About Our Practice
Welcome!
I’m Dr. Ying, officially Guiying Deng Berta. I founded Gentle Paths Pediatrics with a desire to bridge the gap between allopathic (western) and complementary and alternative medicine, to create a nurturing environment to help your family thrive. I believe in finding out and addressing the root causes rather than just putting Band-Aids on to suppress the symptoms. My goal is to partner with you as parents to help your child(children) thrive to their fullest potentials. In Gentle Paths direct primary care, we provide care for children in their comfort home by offering individualized medical care blended with evidence-based western medicine and alternative treatment modalities.
My Story
I was born and grew up in Southern part of China. I attended medical school at Nanjing Medical University in Nanjing, China. I became familiar and fell in love with Colorado when worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora studying global cerebral ischemia. I completed a residency in pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Brooklyn Hospital Center. I also finished an online 2-year Integrative Medicine fellowship through the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine in La Jolla, California. I am starting a fellowship with the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs (MAPS) to expand my knowledge for the care of children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other chronic complex conditions.
Prior to starting Gentle Paths Pediatrics, I worked as a general pediatrician in San Luis Valley Health in Alamosa and Partners in Pediatrics. In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband and our toddler daughter. I enjoy cooking, gardening, distance walking, and traveling.
